A: In the past the estate have been about the same length as the saloon version. In some cases like the S90 and V90 the wagon was a few inches shorter.

A: Don’t know when exactly this vehicle will be available for sale to the general public…. however it appeared at the Geneva Motor Show on the 2nd of March.
I would say check with your local dealer to see what they say about the General release date

A: I would not fully agree with the first answer.
To say straight up, don’t expect a toyota from a volvo. You cant even compare them. A toyota is a basic car that all you do is put in gas and change oil. Now a volvo is very different.
They are awesome cars in many ways, and a lot of people love them and always buy them. They are great on gas, are very comfortable, reliable, safety is a big key, etc!
It has awesome looks and performance. Its also among the top in its category in many ways. So i LOVE volvo and would definately recommend get one. Now heres the downside. Modern Volvo’s can be quirky, and each model has its “recall/problem” Now the reviews and ratings on this model/year are very high so i dont see a problem. And again, if you have the money for a volvo, i would expect you have the money for the maintenance.
Heres the truth:: Volvo has really strong transmissions and engines, but in some cases if you get unlucky, everything else will go sooner or later. Now it shouldnt be a reason to not get it, just be ready. The key in maintaing a volvo is being proactive instead of reactive in terms of repairs. Find a good independant volvo shop to take the car to (unless you have money/prefer to go to the dealer). Meaning if your mechanic says fix something, i would do it instead of wating until 20 other things go wrong because you decided to not fix the main problem. I love everything about volvo, so get one!! i had 4, 2 totaled for various reasons, so now left with 2, time for more!

I was wondering, with the R-Design interior, do you have to have the two tone leather inside? Or could I just go with the solid black or beige?

A: With the XC60 yes, you have the two tone leather option.
However, you might need to special order the exact Volvo model you want (most of the floor models fail to meet all quality’s for the shopper)
Q: Is there any chance that the Volvo S40 is getting a face lift on 2011?
It is not a secret that Volvo is giving back about $6000 in cash rebates to customers during the month of November, this is in addition to included maintenance and other goodies.
To me, this sounds too good to be true, so I was wondering if anyone suspects that Volvo is pushing all this cars out of the production line to come up with a new line with a newer design, that will make those customers that bought a 2010 upset once they know that they that their cars are not the latest model (that includes me). I wonder if this is the reason or there’s any other reason that I should be aware of.
I heard that Volvo changes their lines about every 6 to 8 years and I think this new S40 came out with this line in 2004. Also, something that kind of gives me a clue is that almost all of the Volvo line is getting a rebate but S80 and S40 are substantially higher than the rest, I wouldn’t doubt that both S40 and S80 would get a face lift at the same time based on the similarity of the models. Q: Why is the new Volvo S60 so slow?
Hi guys, I’ve been researching the new 2011 Volvo S60 set for release later this year, because my uncle is looking for a new car, and I looked at the T6 Volvo S60, and it looked decent, had the exact same size engine as a BMW 335xi and an Audi S4, he’s also considering a lexus IS350.
Here are some specs, and you’ll see why the volvo confuses me
2011 Bmw 335xi Coupe
Horsepower=300
Torque=300ft/lbs
Curb Weight=3814
0-60MPH=5.3 Seconds
Price=$42,600
Audi S4
Horsepower=333
Torque=325ft/lbs
Curb Weight=3850
Price=$45,900
0-60MPH=4.9 seconds
Curb weight=3924 pounds
Lexus IS350
Horsepower=306
Torque=277ft/lbs
Curb weight=3500 lbs
0-60=5.5 Seconds
Price=$37595
Lastly, the Volvo S60 T6

Torque=320ft/lbs

0-60MPH=6.2 Seconds

By the end of reading the specifications, the Audi S4 is obviously the fastest, though about $7000 more than the Volvo or Lexus, they’re all still between $37500-46000, which is a reasonable price range for this sort of performance.
What I’m wondering is; Why is the Volvo S60 SO SLOW in comparison to the Bmw, because the (76lb) weight difference wouldn’t slow the car down 0.9s, because the Volvo has more torque!
Is it something to do with the transmissions that volvo uses, compared to Bmw, or is there something wrong with the numbers that Volvo is giving us?

A: There is more to acceleration than peak power and peak torque. The gearing might be setup for better mileage instead of acceleration. Does it make a lot of torque everywhere like the BMW or only near its peak?

Volvo is the wholly-owned Swedish subsidiary of the Chinese automaker Geely so I counted Volvo cars as Chinese cars.
A: Volvo is owned by Ford Motor Company, and has been since 1997. Until then, the cars were made in Sweden, but I believe that now, they’re made in the US.
In any case, I choose the Volvo, although I do prefer the older, boxy sort rather than the weird lumpy ones they have now.
EDIT: Alright, I have searched and Ford is in the process of selling Volvo to Geely, however, the deal is not expected to be completed until later this year. Volvos are still made in Sweden, but it is possible that Geely will open a plant in Beijing to make cars for the Chinese market.
