Q: Does anyone know where the new 2011 Volkswagen Jetta TDI ill be built?
Also the 2011 Golf TDI. I’m just curious if reliability matters on where they are manufacturer.
A: Production will most likely be Mexico, with the drive train from Germany. VW de Mexico, has improved greatly since the mid 90’s
Q: Volkswagen Jetta Lease ?
I am REALLY wanting either a 2010 or the new 2011 Volkswagen Jetta …. What is the monthly lease payment and what is the down payment ? Thanks guys !
A: About $200 per month for 36 months with $2500 due at signing
However It’s selling price would only be between $18,000 to $23,000 with negotiation
Q: Volkswagen Jetta or Chevy Colbalt?
I am in my first year of college (only getting my associates so I’ll be done in the spring of 2011) and I need to buy a new car because my little sister is getting her license and gets my car. I am starting to look at cars and we are currently looking at a 2000 Jetta, but I also like Chevy Colbalts. We don’t know too much about Colbalts so we aren’t too sure about them. Are Chevy Colbalts good cars? Or should I just keep looking at Jetta’s? Or is there a better car that would be under $6000 used?
Thanks!
A: I would look somewhere else. Like a 2001-2002 Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla.
Buying a 2000 Jetta is kindof like shooting yourself in the foot. VW is not high on the reliability ratings, overall, and a Jetta made before 2007 is not a wise decision.
The Cobalts have reliability issues, as well – Chevy is actually discontinuing them and replacing them with the Cruze for 2011.
Q: Audi or Volkswagen? HELP!?
I seriously CAN NOT decide which one to get. It would be for the same price so don’t count that into the equation.
Should I…
2011 totally redesigned Volkswagen Jetta (white with tinted windows and black interior)
or
2007 Audi A4 (black, tinted windows, black interior)
I know the Audi is older, and has worse maintanence, and is not as fuel efficient. But I am not sure I am totally in love with the Jetta. But I am not really in love with the Audi either because Im a 21 year old girl and its a big, long car that kind of looks like it belongs to a drug dealer. But its kind of sexy at the same time. HELP!!!!
A: the VW drive the TDI and see what you think
Q: Jetta TDI. 2006 or 2009?
I’m trying to decide between these two Jetta TDI’s.
2006 Jetta TDI ~ 71,000 miles ~ $13,000
2009 Jetta TDI ~ 28,500 miles ~ $20,000
They’re both in really good shape and have the same features.
I’d rather get the 2009, but would have a little bit of a difficult time affording it. Is it worth the extra $7,000? They were not made in 2007 and 2008 because I believe the EPA started enforcing higher emmision standards on new diesel powered cars.

A: The difference between the 2006 and the 2009 is the mainly the engine and transmission. The 2006 has a 1.9L, 100hp, 140 lb-ft torque, and available in a 5-speed manual or an auto. Due to emissions, they stopped making the Mk5 during 2007-2008, and came back in 2009 with a brand new 2.0L 140 hp, 236 lb-ft torque engine, available with a 6-speed DSG (dual clutch) transmission, or a conventional 6-speed manual. The newer engine is by far more refined, quieter, smoother, more powerful, and cleaner. Someone in my family owns a 06 Jetta TDI, so I have quite a bit of experience with this particular model. It had enough power to stay out of its own way, but would not recommend the automatic transmission, as it really dogs down the car.
I have driven the newer engine, and compared to the 06 version, it doesn’t even seem like a diesel. It is as quiet as a gas engine at idle, even with the hood up. The increase in power makes a big difference, as it nearly doubles in torque.
Both car offer great gas milage, without being boring as rocks. Reliability and durability is high, and the engine should go for 200,000 miles plus. I would recommend you go for the 2009 as well, even though you will pay a premium. You get all the advantages of diesel (economy, low end torque, durability) with less noise, occasional smoke, clatter, and with more power, which never hurts. The DSG tranny is a mechanical wonder, but some prefer a conventional manual.
I hope you find one you like, regardless of year. Best of luck with you search!
Q: I don’t know which car to buy for my first car?
I’m looking for a good car that’ll be fun to drive and look at. I need good quality, safe transportation too. I like European and Korean cars. I’m looking for Automatic cars for under $200 a month.
NEW:
2009-2010 Volkswagen Jetta California Edition ($179/Month 36 months with $2000 down)
2010 Kia Soul + ($149/Month for 36 months with $2400 down)
2011 Ford Fiesta SE Hatchback (Not sure exactly how much)
2010 Kia Forte LX Sedan ($149/Month for 36 months with $2000 down)
2010 MINI Cooper Base ($199/month for 39 months with $2300 down)
USED:
2001 Audi S4 ($200/Month with $2000 down for 36 months) $8,000 with 125,000 miles
2000 BMW 528i $8,000 with 117,000 miles
2003 Saab 9-3 Linear $7,000 with 50,000 miles
2002 Audi A6 3.0 Sedan $8,000 with 103,000 miles
*All used would be inspected by a highly rated professional before purchasing.
Well, first of all I’m 16 so, I can’t actually buy the car.. My parents would be getting it for me.
A: 2011 Ford Fiesta is ur best bet it a good reliable car cheap insurance and tax rather nippy to can’t go wrong .
Q: Structual damage to car I want to purchase?
There is this 2007 volkswagen jetta 2.5 that I am interested in purchasing? This car had everything I’m looking for, the price is right $11,900, has the features I’m looking for, comes with a warranty that will expire in march 2011, I have a feeling this is the one. There’s only one problem when looking at the car fax it had structural/frame damage reported. The car has had one owner only 28,000 miles on it. I’m just wondering how concerned or how serious I should take the structural/frame damage report?
A: I don’t care how well it was repaired I personally wouldn’t pay $12K for a car that had been in a wreck and suffered a bent frame. The best frame shop in the world will never get it back to the way it was when it came from the factory. There are plenty of cars out there that haven’t been wrecked or at worst had a minor fender bender. I’d continue to look.
