Q: What model year did Ford add sequential tail lights to the Ford Mustang?
I’m scouring the internet and can’t seem to find a solid answer – I know they have them on both the 2010 and 2011 models, but what’s the oldest model where they came stock from the factory with sequential turn signals?
A: Older Mustangs have Never had sequentials. Unless it was modified from a Cougar or a T-Bird.
Cougar’s had them from 1967-73, and T-Birds from 1964-70.
BUT, what was really cool about ‘em, if you turn on the Hazard lights, and flip the turn indicator lever, they flash from both sides!!!
Older cars had ALL the good stuff, chrome, switches for this and that, trick stuff that newer cars don’t.
Q: When will the 2011 GMC Terrains come out?
Does anyone know when the new models will come out? My parents are waiting for the 2011 models to come out so that they can buy me a new 2010 model for cheaper than current pricing. Also, if anyone bought a 2010 Terrain, would you mind posting how much you got it for? I’m trying to stay as close to $25K as possible. Thanks!
A: I think it might come out this 2010 summer.
Q: Is stability control standard on the 2011 Elantra?
I know that right now electronic stability control is only available on the highest end Elantra. But with the government’s push towards making it more common, will stability control be standard on even the lowest end 2011 Elantra? I heard it ESC is required to be standard on 95% of 2011 model cars, and with Hyundai already making it available on some Elantras, I’m hoping.
Thanks
A: yes, it will be standard on all upcoming hyundai models. in 2012 every new passenger car sold as in the U.S. must be so equipped, so automakers are making the jump
Q: Will the 2011 Saab 9-5 be available for Canada?
Well I heard that Saab is saved by Spyker. However, I’m also hearing that they’re going to release an all new 9-5 for the 2011 model year, which will start production in April 2010. My point is, will this car come to Canada and will it be seen at the 2010 Canadian International Autoshow in February? I’m concerned about this model.
A: Production of the car started in January in Sweden – even before Spyker bought them out as the whole “shutdown” by GM was apparently a lot of posturing to get a better deal from Spyker (no actions were taken except the release of the Saab executives for one week until they were rehired by GM in order to transition the company to Spyker – and they expect to stay employed by Saab).
In the USA it will be sold by the end of May 2010 and it will be called the 2011 model. The same goes for Sweden and most of Europe. During the year it will roll out to other markets including Canada. If you are willing to come to the USA you can buy it early, but it should be at the auto show in February considering the car will be by then in mass production for a month. It was at the Frankfurt auto show last month so it has already been at one trade show.
Q: What did they change about the Camaro for 2011 compared to the 2010 model?
I have a 2010 model and was just wondering what I’m missing out on. As far as appearances go, I don’t really see a difference when I look at pictures.
A: Seriously, about all that was changed was the last number in the model year designation. It changed from a 0 to a 1.
The only other change is that the 10th character of the VIN changed from the letter “A” to the letter “B”.
By the way, there is NO 4 cylinder engine in the current model Camaro. The LS and LT models only come with a 220 cubic inch (3,6L) V6. All SS models only use a 378 cubic inch (6.2L) V8. The standard transmission for ALL models is a 6 speed manual transmission. A 6 speed automatic transmission with Tap Shift controls is optional on all models.
In the near future a convertible will be available however the official release date has not been announced. The only thing they say is that production starts in early 2011. I personally don’t expect the convertible until next spring.
Q: When is the best time to buy a car?
Is there a particular time when dealers are looking to unload stock? I’m looking at a popular ‘07 model, would it be worth it to wait for the 2011 models to come out and jump a price drop?
Thanks in advance.
A: Some 2011 models have been out since April of 2010. In cold weather climates, the best time to buy is in the middle of January.
I suggest you go to Y! autos. In “used cars” input information on the vehicle you want and see what is for sale. At best, you may be able to knock 10% off the asking price.
Q: When do the 2011 Honda Accords come out?
I’m planning on buying a 2008 Honda Accord V6 Coupe. There’s not really any other cars that have caught my interest. I’m not looking to pay over $400 a month.
I was planning on purchasing the car in July but I heard that it would be better to buy the car towards October. Will the price drop if I buy the car once the 2011 Accords are released? If so, when do the 2011 models come out?
I’m planning on buying it pre-owned from the dealer. I live in California if it makes a difference. Thanks.
A: Excellent choice my friend! The current generation V6 Coupes are absolutely stunning and the manual is fast (relative). There is a charcoal one just down the road from my house (drool!)
Honda traditionally releases it’s new models in the fall (although the industry itself continues to push release dates up.) So look for the 2011 in August, September, or October. There are no drastic mechanical changes expected for the 2011 Accord. Just some refreshening of the nose and tail and some minor interior changes. It is rumored to get it’s next full redesign in model year 2013.
That said, I wouldn’t expect the arrival of the 2011 to affect your pricing of a 2008. But definitely shop around. It’s worth driving an hour or two to get the one you want at the price you want.
Good luck!
Q: My friends think I’m dumb. See if you agree. And if you do that’s O.K.?
I grew up poor and I know the value of money and I never forget where I came from. Well, in 2000 I got a 323i BMW loved the car and in 2007 I got another one but this one was a 335i Twin Turbo….Just an awesome car. Now I just got a 2010 BMW M3 and it’s about $72,000. This car is is 5 months old I already have my eye on a new car coming out. It’s a 2011 Ferrari 458 Italia. It is so sexy and red hot. I assure you I won’t get yellow. But my friends are like ….WHY? I feel bad when they say it’s a dumb idea. Why are you wasting your money they say? Of course they do have a point. I could just lease it and not pay $250,000 for it. I don’t drive much but when I do, I drive like the car was meant to be driven. So the final end here to this question. If you could afford to lease a Ferrari 2011 Model or a 2012 Model and the payments were around $2500 per month would you do it or would you be considered an idiot/moron for living out your dreams. I hate dream killers. Thanks for the feedback in advance.
A: It seems like your friends are just jealous of you. Calling someone dumb for being able to afford a nice car is dumb itself. Everyone has a weakness (for some it’s clothes, for some it’s cars).
Q: Help! Negotiating a price for a 2011 Impreza 2.5i Sedan (Sport Package)?
I live in Canada, GTA region.
Model: 2011 Subaru Impreza 2.5i Sedan (4-Door)
Trim: Sport Package
Transmission: Manual
Options: Mats & Red footwell illumination
MSRP: $24,695.00
PDI & Freight: $1,525.00
Air Tax: $100.00
Accessories: $198.10
HST: $3,447.35
Purchase Price: $29,965.45
This is off the Subaru Canada website. I’m quite sure that this isn’t the be-all-end-all price, but does anyone have any suggestions on how much I could push down the price? Any specific dealers that you have had good experiences with? A CCC report?
Thank you!
A: For a Subaru, you will not generally get a large amount off the MSRP. You may be able to get up to $2000 off the price, but my guess is not much more than that.
Q: 2011 Honda Civic = new model?
Hi, I’m currently driving a leased 2007 Honda Civic.
My lease expires this coming September and I was looking into purchasing a 2011 Civic when the new model comes out but the rumor mill says that they’re going to overlook their usual five-year swap and unveil the ninth generation in 2012? Does anyone have a credible source for this or is it just speculation?
Also, does anyone have any information on what the 2011 will look like? I’ve seen a futuristic red coloured rendering of what it could look like but everything else looks like a European model of the eighth gen.
Thanks for your help!
Thank you, could you please cite your source for this?
A: The 2012 model is when it’s going to be totally redesigned and it should be out in late 2011. There is no official announcement from Honda, so, we are all just guessing right now. I guess the Civic is going to be slightly small then the current generation, but it’s hard to say for sure what it is going to look like.
Q: What is the release date of the Ford Fiesta in North America?
I’ve been looking around for the release date for the Ford Fiesta in the US and Canada. All I can find is they are using a “2011″ model designation, but claim arrival in “early 2010″. I’ve driven this Fiesta model in Europe and it’s incredible to drive, cheap to run and the European ones were decent quality. If Ford can get one out in time then I’m buying one!
A: Early 2010. Thats all they’re saying.
Q: I don’t know what baseball bat I should get?
I need a new baseball bat and I’m looking to spend $300 or less on it. I had the 2008 Grey/Orange Easton stealth and I loved it. I have a few bats in mind but i wanted a few suggestions. I would like them to be between a 2009 and a 2011 model. Please Help.
A: The Nabisco42×92-3 is a wonderful bat.
Hope this helps.
Q: Will the Range Rover sport diesel V6 be available this fall (2010 year model) in the U.S.?
I’m in love with range rovers but I have a long commute to work (It wouldn’t be smart environmentally or financially to drive 100 miles/day at least 2X a week in a range rover). I am eager for the range rover to be available in diesel, which is reportedly coming out in 2010 for the U.S. (already available in UK). Does that mean next year for the 2011 year models or this year when the 2010s are available?
A: the 2010 lineup has already been announced and it doesn’t include a a TDV6/TDV8 model for the US. there are no official plans for LR to introduce a diesel engine in the NA line. AutoWeek made a guess. See 2nd link
Q: Yamaha sales rep job. I need help or a study guide?
I’m starting monday at a Yamaha dealer, I know some of the basic stuff about them, but I need some help finding out about the 2010-2011 models so I can understand what I’m talking about when I start monday. I know Street bike and ATV names and all that, but I need to know whats inside. Thanks in advance
A: This is why customers are constantly fustrated at dealerships….
You have to start somewhere though, so why not trawl the net for their latest models. All the specs are on Yamaha’s webpages, along with an explanation of the latest tech. Don’t be afraid to ask questions when you start, ask lots….And don’t BS people if you don’t know, just be honest and you’ll get alot farther with customers. And life in general actually.
Q: what’s the better car purchase for me used or new?
Right now I’m looking at purchasing one of these two trucks. Also please do not try to convince me to buy a different vehicle, I have my heart set on this vehicle, just dont know whether or not I want used or new.
Used: 2008 Honda Ridgeline RTL (top of line model with dual climate zone, power driver seat, leather, towing pkg)
added extras by previous owner: 20″ rims (nothing I would have bought myself, but it looks nice), side step running boards, ipod connector, cargo bed extender, tint.
Condition – good condition exterior/interior. two door dings, small chips from what looks like normal driving. 19.5k miles.
Asking price: $27.5k
New: 2010 or 2011 model (if I wait another 3-5 months). Honda Ridgeline RT (Base model without any of the bells & whistles listed above or added extras)
asking price: $30k for 2010, 2011 model est price is $31k.
- Part of me thinks the used car is a great deal because it has a lot of great features, top of line model, and it’s cheaper. Also compared to KBB value it’s pretty good deal. However, for only $2.5-3.5k more I can purchase a new car (although base) that will be 2-3 model years newer, and having a new car is always nice too.
What would you choose? Is the used car even worth considering?
~G
A: You can buy the top of the line Ridgeline RTL with Nav for $31k ($6k discount).
